Our Season Of Transition

These past few months have been full of transitions, from moving from our home in Hungary to a basement in Dayton, Ohio; to having our third child and figuring out life as a family of five. And this season of transition is far from being over.

Coming to America |
Coming back to the States to focus on building our support team and preparing for birth in a new country and preparing for our move to Australia has been a big feat to take on. Some days are exciting and meeting new people, seeing God build amazing connections, providing in incredible ways, and opening doors is so encouraging. But some days feel slow, futile, and sometimes things just seem like they will never work out. In those harder days we hold onto the promises God has spoken, the calling he has placed on our family’s lives, and the testimonies of how he has always come through. |

Preparing for AustraliaThere are many different ways we are preparing for our move to Australia. A huge part is building our sending team, as being fully funded as we serve will enable us to further our reach and effectiveness. We have been trying to set many phone calls to share more of what God has called us to do and invite people to partner with us. We have also had the opportunity to share in a few churches. We are also needing to raise $19,000 to cover 2 years of full coverage health insurance for the whole family, which is a requirement for our visas. There will be other expenses in the visa/moving process, but this is the biggest and most time sensitive expense (as we cannot apply for visas without this). We have also been spending some time learning more about the culture and country as a whole. |

Baby Brother Arrives |
October 21, 2025 we were blessed with our second precious boy! The labor was difficult, following a difficult pregnancy, but by the grace of God our little Levente Gideon Laser was born safe and strong! His brother and sister are so happy to invite him into their chaotic love. Though we are all blessed by his arrival, it does usher in another level of transition on top of what we have already been facing. This especially takes a toll on our kids, and they have been highly emotional and confrontational which in turn takes a toll on our whole family dynamic. Prayers as we navigate this season with our family are so appreciated. We really want to have extra patience and grace with our kids, yet it can be so challenging as we go through all these transitions ourselves as well. |

The Cost of Transition |
This transition was not a decision made lightly. Though we look forward with anticipation to all that God has called us to do, there is so much we have had to leave behind. It was different when we were young and single, we could pick up our lives so much easier. But now watching our kids struggle through a change they can’t fully comprehend, we realize how costly the life of a missionary truly is. We had created a home, a community, a life in Hungary. But out of obedience, we have given up the safety and security of all that to go into a lot of unknowns. James, our oldest, won’t refer to the place we are staying as our home. He calls it “the people’s home”, though we have been here for 2 months already. He understands enough to know we are still unsettled, and however difficult it is for us, it’s so much harder for him. He still mentions how much he misses his “big house” (what he would call our small two bedroom house in Hungary) and all his friends, “aunties” and “uncles”. Amalia doesn’t understand as much as he does, but we still see the weight of it affect her. We know it is just for a season, and God continues to comfort our spirits. But of course, your prayers throughout this season are so appreciated. |

The Blessing of Obedience |
We have seen so many blessings pour out because we have been willing to lay down our lives to follow God’s leading. Throughout our lives serving on the mission field, we have seen that God always blesses obedience. This season is no different, as we have seen God bless us with a loving local community here, with new monthly partners, and constant new open doors to be able to share about what God has called us to. We have seen God bless our family with things that comfort our spirits such as gifts from strangers for our daughter’s birthday, gifts for our newborn, a free arcade birthday party for our son (my mom won it in a drawing), and so much more. Though our kids are too young to truly be a part of making decisions about ministry, they still are called too, and they still sacrifice a lot. How amazing our God is to see their little hearts and bless them with their desires. |

Investing Where We’re At |
As we are a bit more stationary in Ohio due to pregnancy and now a fresh newborn, we have still taken every opportunity to invest into where we are. Jonathon has been attending a weekly Bible study where God has used him to challenge and encourage people around him. We have been blessed to hear that just by us sharing our lives’ stories and God’s faithfulness through them, people have seen so much of the goodness of God and have been encouraged to live more fervently for him. We are so blessed to be used by God in this way and to be able to invest into people around us as we can. |

What We Look Forward To |
We are so excited to be able to go to Australia and enter into the next season God has called us to. Our hearts for the youth of Australia have been stirring and we have been learning more and more why God has put them on our hearts. Youth gangs are on the rise, and their crimes are escalating. What had started as more petty crime has become more severe. We know why young people turn to life in gangs. They are looking for a place of belonging, acceptance, a sense of identity. Gangs tend to bring this feeling, but we know it doesn’t last and that it won’t fill that void. We are so eager to speak truth into the lies that have been echoed around them, to call out their true identity in Christ. We are eager to encourage and equip these young people into the lives God has called them to. |

Thank you so much for your partnership through prayer and finances! Your continued support through this time enables us to continue to become equipped to be sent out to Australia. Because you give, we are able to share more broadly about the need in Australia and get even more people excited to partner with not just us, but with all God is doing in this great nation and this next generation!
